Unable to Open the GIM Admin console from CME

Hi ALl,

I am not able to access the GIM admin console option from the GIM ETL application in CME.

I already have installed the Configuration manager and configuration import wizard on my Local system but not getting the Wizard option on right click over GIM ETL application to configure or open the GIM admin console from CME.

I am trying to access the CME application from local system. The version is 7.6x

You need to install GIM Admin Console. Configuration Import Wizard does not come into play here.

Please refer to Genesys Info Mart 7.6 Deployment Guide pag 306.

I have gone through the deployment guides through Page 351-355. I m basically trying through the CME installed on my  local desktop. So Just to confirm,  if i want to access the GIM admin console  through CME, i need to install Console setup  on my local desktop.

Thanks a lot. Now i am able to see the Wizard option for the GIM ETL after installig the console setup. Now i am getting an error as "Connection to DB server Failed" while cliking on Wizard->Configure option.

Do you have a DBServer and a DAP with role=ADMIN_CONSOLE  to access your Staging Area DB? Is this DAP listed in the connections tab of your GIM application in CME?

Can you ping your DBServer hostname from your local computer?

Hi to all,

i have the same problem, i have a DAP with role_ADMIN_CONSOLE and a DB Server for this DAP

in the log of GIM i read:

Initializing DAP 'DAP_STAGING_AREA' for role(s) 'STAGING'.  Database='Staging_Area_DB@WS2003SSE8' Owner='sa'"
"DAP 'DAP_STAGING_AREA' database connection error.  Exception: 'Cannot open connection'"

i use MSSQL and i  can ping the hostname of DBserver

how can i solve the problem
