Hi everyone,

I know that this Forum, for the majority of people, is a "Q&A" place where engineers and technicians get to ask - and answer- some fairly in-depth questions on Genesys technical topics.  From time to time I take a step away from asking and answering questions to reflect on Genesys, as a whole - this is one of those times - and, after all, this *is* a discussion forum...  :)  Your input is more than welcome!

You are probably aware that Alcatel Lucent (ALU) recently announced Genesys as one of it's 3 core Services, putting Genesys firmly within it's structure (rather than being a separate entity).  Aside from the subtle changes and the core structure updates, I'd appreciate some views on how we think Genesys has changed over the last year or so.  Maybe something with a bit of structure, like this;

Genesys Products and Updates/Upgrades
Genesys Marketing
Genesys Support
Genesys Training
Genesys Roadmap/Strategy
Genesys Alliances/Partners

- I'd like to add my own views but I think I will leave those and give other people a chance to make comments, first.

Thanks everyone!

TT

Hi Tony,

Keep reflecting cos it gets the discussions flowing...................

on training - I have been asked what courses I would like to go on this year and going through the curriculum it's not as straight forward as it could be. The explainations of the courses dont quite give you the inforamtion you require to know if course x will help in your environment.

For instance should I go on the iWD course ?? dont know because I can't explain to my manager what it is and what it's for. The description kind of gives you some kind of idea but I cant take some kind of idea forward to go on the course.

maybe it's just me but they could desribe them more clearly.

  • Wow - that was a quick response! :)

I think the course curriculum does seem to have been written almost like an internal memo - it's almost like you have to do your homework on the Solution to know what you are going to get out of the course...  But, then again, it's usual for Genesys to "assume" that you know what your company needs and therefore you know what courses to go on.

Perhaps if the curriculum were built on the basis of the business Solutions to give it context, it might be easier to explain and understand?

    Thanks Tambo,

    Good Morning Tony,

Good to see you up and about.

My comment about Genesys is that over the years is they have become more and more introvert. I've seen this accelerate over the last year.
