Can anyone provide me with a success story involving a migration to Outbound 6.5 from 5.1? Or even just give some quick advice on the subject.

We are currently deliberating over whether to go to 6.1 or 6.5.

It will be hosted on Win2K/SQL2K and a Meridian (25.30) with Mlink.

Be very wary of Outbound 6.1. We migrated from 5.1 earlier this year to 6.1. However we scrapped any thoughts of using outbound 6.1 with our system as some key features were dropped in 6.1 for some unexplained reason. One such feature was the automatic inclusion of a "9" for external dialling with 5.1 on 6.1 you have to include this as part of the phone number in the list....major headaches if you do any kind of automated load/own reporting. We were advised to wait for 6.5 and have been sitting back waiting for the product to bed in before looking at it again!

  • We have been running preview dialler 6.5 for nearly 8 months in the initial stages we had issues but mainly to do with our softphone intergration. These now have for the best part been resolved.

    The other issues we have are around reporting and providing a ready time for when an agent is active in a campaign. This metric is used to calculate the agents KPI's. We had to build a custom state to handle this and know we are working through intergating it into the Datamart.
