Hi,

I may be asking a stupid question. but i would like to know whether its possible to use datasoucers as mentioned below.

Shall we have primary data sourcer pointing to ODS1 and backup datasourcer pointing to ODS2 database?  We have a pair of T-servers running in primary and back up mode. I would like to use primary datasourcer to write data to ODS1 when Tservers running in normal mode. Whenever Tserver switchover happen i.e when back up Tserver plays the primary role, i want to use the backup datasourcer to write data to ODS2 database. Is it possible to use like this? if so will be there be any duplication of data which is writting to ODS databases and then when ETL extracts data from these two ODS databases and writing to datamart?

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks - JJR

And what does TServer has to do??? Your TServer may go down but 2nd one will raise and still feed StatServers so they on their own will still feed to ODS. HA is on the idea that ODS goes down, it will go to the Backup ODS and still use the same DB. It will be useless and wrong to use a different DB...
Please refer to Reporting Deployment guide, you will find a whole chapter on HA and a very nice diagram that will let you understand what you need and what and how to configure it

Yes I'm agree cavagnaro. Let me share another information. In Single site we no need Multiple Database for ODS because you will have trouble and complicate data when system recover. Please forget it.

The advantage of DataSourcer ,When the DS could not contact the database. DS will generate the emergency file on the local path of the DS on their machine. When the DBMS recover. dS will automatic recover the emergency files and continue keep the data. That means you will not lost the data.
