Changing server time while Genesys solution is running.

Hi,

My servers which run Genesys are on Windows Server 2003. All my servers synch the time with a domain controller. This domain controller isn't synch with an external time server... So what happened here is that ALL my servers are actually 3 minutes ahead.

If i want to ajust the time manually on the Domain Controller... would it create any impact on the Genesys solution / Database ?

BTW the database is also configured with the domain controller.....

--> Running on genesys release 7.5

thx

changing time forward - has no big impact except reporting components. All statistics will have additional +change_time durations for example. Routing and reporting should be fine.

changing time backward - has an impact, for example on routing. It looks like if you change time back, URS stops processing events from TServer untill some timestamp is larger than last one before time change. So all waiting calls will have to wait +change_time longer. Also there should be some impact on reporting. In CCA you will have some missing durations. ICON gets timestamps from TServer events - I've newer tested what happens if per example duration of call waiting in VQ has an negative value. In this case I would recommend stop Genesys components, change time backward and start Genesys solutions.

All above was discovered in 7.1 or 7.6.
