This may be old news to some,  but I though I would share an option we found in URS that allows you to turn specific URS messages on or off independent of the logging level that is set. At the end of the URS manual it talks a little bit about this option (and leaves some stuff out as well), but the gist of it is that under the options section create a verboselevels section and  place a option and value in that section or the message number and level. If you place a message number with the level of 6 (346:6 for example) URS will stop writing that specific message to the log. If you want to turn on a specific message, say variable assignment messages, you put in the message number and the corresponding log level that would produce that message (for assign 505:5).

There are a couple of pieces of information that I am looking for still, like is the URS manual inclusive of all log messages and are message numbers in the log itself and how are they written (i.e. HEX to decimal). I have tried to convert some of them and still have not been able to do so. Has anyone else found the conversion?

You can try to start URS with just single command line parameter -messages. URS put into stderr list of all mesaages together with their numbers and exit.
Also if you start URS in normal way but with additonal comand line parameter -verbose (don't try it in production - volume of infrmation will be extremely high) - URS will prefic each (almost) message  with its number.

Hello,

I have been trying the option discussed in this thread but does not seem to work for me.
I have completed the following:
Added 'verboselevels' as a new section in the URS application options tab, then added option name=294 with value=6.
However the URS logs show the messages for id 294 still present.  Did this by starting URS with command line argument '-verbose' and observed logs.
Also tried 'VerboseLevels' and restarted the application.

There could extra steps that the URS reference manual (and article) is missing.
URS version 8.1.300.27.

thanks

Section in URS application should be VerboseLevels.
Value of option default/verbose in URS should be true or numeric less then 6.

You can check is custom verbose levels for messages was set or not with setting after that URS option console_command to messages and check log for list of messages and their levels.

I dug around a bit and ended up asking PS to see if this applies to other products as well, adding their reply:

"there is a similar set of options common for all Genesys applications built with Log library (i.e. most of Genesys Server applications). The options allow to reassign verbose level for particular eventIDs.

refer to 'log-extended Section' paragraph of 'Chapter 2: Common Configuration Options / Common Log Options' (p.38, https://docs.genesys.com/Special:Repository/85fr_ref-co.pdf?id=4b6870e4-2d5f-479c-ac29-11e43011db63) for option description and example."
