Application failovers after disk backup

Hello,

has anyone experienced failovers when performing disk backups on the host servers.

For example if we perform a disk backup on sipserver host, it fails over to sipserver_backup.
scs shows connection failiure/host unavailable.
the main sipserver then restarts in backup state.
sipserver is version 8.0.4

This might be related to addp connection - we typically use 15/30 seconds as local/remote timeouts.

thanks.

Yes,I have experience with this behavior. If the read/write to/from I/O function takes a long time, components cannot write to the logs and handle other requests and will become inaccessible. Check I/O status if you make a diskbackup.

Can i Check, does SIPServer require a connection to the confserv application?
If so should we define a local and remote timeout?

I cant see this as being required within the deployment guide however our integrator did set it up, with 0 values for the timeouts.

Thanks.

You can...but why...
SIP Server by itself gets the DN configuration from the switch it is attached to.
ADDP could work for remote environments and you want to make sure connection persists or at least have some level of it

Connection defined on SIPS which points to config server or config proxy tells SCS what should be put into command line when application is starting so adding such connection to SIPS makes perfectly sense in environment with config proxy servers. As for addp I alaways configure values different from 0 when connection is pointing to service running on separate host.
