Recording Connector Licenses

Hello,
Does anyone know the purpose of the Genesys Recording Connector Licenses?
I have a customer who are using a third party integration software (verint) where they pay towards license usage and have questioned why there is a seemingly related license also within genesys.
There isnt any documentation explicitly mentioning this type of license.

Thanks.

Hi,
we also use Third-Party recorder servers and without thses licences. So, I guess, that they are not necessary.

Indeed it's needed: it's a commercial, non technical, per-seat license.
I guess, although I have some doubts, it's related to CTI-triggered call recording.

Are you using the GPlus Verint Adaptor? If you are, you probably don't need these special licenses. If you're using something else then you'll need the commercial license. The idea is that Genesys get lots of cash from you no matter what you use  >:D

As Fra says, technically not needed, commercially yes, if you don't follow their rules you may have commercial issues later

One technical note - this license is only need it if recording system (verint in this case) takes some data from Genesys like agent id or attached data. If system does just pure recording and is not connected to TServer or Config Server or any other Genesys component this license is not need it

I cannot aggree bublepaw. I have installed third-party recorder server, which takes userdata from Genesys(confserv,T-Server) and I do not need recording license. May be it depends on used comm protocol between Genesys FW and recorder server.

As mentioned earlier it is commercial license. Technically You can connect whatever You want to Genesys. It is not blocked by license but from commercial perspective You are breaking licensing agreement. Here is Genesys page which describes which connector license is need it in which integration case
