Hello All,

I am trying to setup a GVP 8.1 setup on 2 independent hosts.

I have setup the Primary Framework + Management Layer components on Host1 and they are running fine.

I have setup the Backup Framework + Management Layer components on Host2 and they are all running except for the configuration server (confser_b) on Host 2.

It always gives the error message as shown below.

Any clues you all can suggest as I have exhausted all my options, seems I am missing some thing here.

Thanks

It seems like bad configuration of DBserver for confserv, which is configured in .conf file under installation folder of dedicated confserv. Try to check these files or post it here.

BTW: As I see, you are newbie in Genesys. I do not understand how want you to install GVP :-)

Yes you were right, there was a small misconfiguration in the confserv.cfg file for the DB connection parameters.
The Oracle SID was wrongly given as the IP (10.8.51.212) instead of the Service Name (gvpdb).

Once I changed the DB Server with the Oracle SID, it worked and the back up configuration server is running.

The logs now successfully show as listed below.

19:20:23.828 Trc 04500 Connecting to DBServer '' at host '10.8.51.212', port 4040
19:20:23.828 Std 04503 Connected to DBServer '' at host '10.8.51.212', port 4040
19:20:23.828 Trc 24400 Trying to open database [10.8.51.212] ,SQL server [10.8.51.212]
19:20:24.109 Std 04504 Connection to DBServer '' at host '10.8.51.212', port 4040 lost

Yes I am a newbie and everyone is when he starts, so am I.
But I have already crossed several hurdles and have been successfully able to setup a working GVP with Framework in HA mode.
The next on my list is SIP HA using Windows NLB and RM HA using Windows NLB.
Cheers!!!.

Are you using Oracle or MSSQL DBS? In the logs I see and you can see, that the loaded driver is for MSSQL. You have to set up right driver according to your database engine.
The note about newbie was nothing against you, but is very strange that anybody try to deploy GVP in HA, if he has a big problem to set and start up the configuration or mgmt layer, which is "headstone" of whole Genesys. I do not want to see how will be the GVP deployed. One thing is deploy anything from Genesys and other thing is properly deployment and tunning of that layer. That's all.

I am using Oracle DB.

Not sure, but  the logs always shows that type of message only.

Anyways, if you have any comments/know-how that you can recommend on SIP HA and RM HA, it would help me.
I am using Windows OS.

Are you sure with dbclient settings for configuration layer? Recommendation and suggestion to GVP deployment depends on business needs, env and a lot of other parameters. Is not possible to describe all in one topic. If you will have some problem with your deployment, you can create new topic.
