Hi,

it has been a while since I posted something, usually just reading :)

I am looking for a SIP softphone (with source code) for G8 SIP server for a reasonable price. Anyone knows of anything worth considering?

Thanks,
Vic

I would use something based on PJSIP:

I suspect not. However since source code is available you should be able to add it in

Interesting proposal regarding GAD. GAD - never used it. Any restrictions on it?

As for Genesys pricing?

I am afraid to ask Genesys PS in Japan because it cost around 30K for one MME. Worried to even consider. Maybe overseas would be cheaper.

Best regards,
Vic

btw, that "gad softphone" has issue with microsoft rtc library. first of all this library is not supported already. and the second reason - when it receive reordered rtp packets (or when ssrc changed during session), it may crash (afair, it was long time ago).

Well, bro  ;D
In IT world all solution have 3 properties - price, quality/reliability and usability/featureset. However you can combine only 2 of this properties in one product.
So, by other words - of course you can found and use much better solution for program SIP phone but this"old-timer" is a good alternative for temporary or start-up project.

Vic,

stay far away from the old SIP endpoint shipped with GAD. As it's been pointed out, it suffered from serious limitations, admitted by Genesys themselves, due to the cr@ppy RTC core, which couldn't be workaround by Genesys.
Bria - and supposedly the new SIP endpoint - wins hands down.

Totally agree that Bria is the best way to go assuming that source code is not required - "I am looking for a SIP softphone (with source code) "

Lat time we built our on SIP phone on top of RTC 1.2 and to be frank, it took a lot of coding to get it to work.  Bria is great, but we need to actually build on top of something and have control of a source code.  I assume we can build on top of Bria SDK, but how much would that cost?
