Hi!

How can I detect, in the Genesys databases, that Genesys had stopped working??

I need to know this, so when Genesys is down I can have a plan B...

Thank you!  ;D

Ermmm that is why you have SCS and SCI with Alarms/Reactions.

The term "Genesys had stopped working" is so general, that there is no possible answer for you. Genesys can stop working from many, many and many reasons without any relation between it. As Cav wrote, for these purposes is in Genesys MGMT layer with SCS and SCI as GUI (or GA in R8.x). If the whole Genesys has stopped working, is there only one solution/plan, start Genesys to properly state.

The thing is I have to servers, one with Genesys Framework, and one with my GVP installation. What I want to do, is if for example Genesys Server is shut down, let the IVR know this so it can derive the calls to other place.
Please tell me if im explaining myself clear, my english is terrible...

If the Genesys server with framework will go down, GVP does not work since this "crash" logically. Framework, namely CFG and MGMT layer got to running for properly serving of services/functions. I strongly recommend to you learn something about Genesys, what Genesys is and how it works. Without these knowledges is not possible understand Genesys logic and deploy anything properly. Or the best way, contact your Genesys contact person and visit Genesys training ;-)

Yep Iīm quite new, but trying to learn believe me.

The thing is I have a GVP standalone installation and in other server My Genesys MGMT installation. The only thing IVR does is route the calls. The thing I want to know is if Genesys MGMT server is down, how can GVP standalone installation be informed...

Thanks for your comment.

Hi,

I can't agree with Kubig's statement "If the Genesys server with framework will go down, GVP does not work since this "crash" logically." If GVP is up and running before your Genesys Framework & Management Layer (especially Configuration Server) crashes then GVP will work normally but you will lose possibility to change anything until Configuration Server is back. You may lose possibility to handle calls if SIP Server or/and URS is co-hosted on crashed server but this always depends on your deployment.

Thatīs my case in particular, my URS is cohosted in the server i want to detect is down. So in my other server GVP, I can make other actions based in this other server failure :-\

Depending on your call flow, call may get stack on GVP if URS goes down... If you post here more details about your platform (e.g. GVP deployment mode, call flow) then we can discuss what can be done.

You are partly right, but there is some behavior which can depends on GVP functions and which has was registered on RM for a long time ago - it is problem with reading values and cfg of LRG from configuration , sometimes causes that RM cannot find any LRG. So, that is why I have wrote the "magic" sentence, I know that was not exactly right, but according to the user knowledge about Genesys, I want to write "simple" answer. So, it is very hard to answer user question if they are so general, the topic will be on hundred pages with clearly descirption.
