ASM Mode-in Genesys Outbound

I need to know what's the advantages of ASM mode comparing to other dialing mode in Outbound contact center ?
and can i work with other dialing modes even if i have Cisco CallManager/Unified Communications Manager.

Asm as documentation states, blocks your agent. Check docs.genesyslab.com there is a video explaining it.
For your dialing modes check your Tserver guide

In older PABX environments ASM mode gives you the ability to create an extremely short transfer time when connecting the customer to the agent.  However in modern call centres this is not really required.

A while back there were also benefits when using specific media gateways combined with Dialogic HMP software to apply answering machine results based on calls diverting while ringing, eg. the call rings, then diverts to message back.  However this is rarely useful anymore as calls do not often "divert" to voicemail anymore.

However, the efficiency you lose by using ASM far outweighs any benefits.  I would never recommend using ASM mode, unless you have a very specific requirement for it.
