OCS VOIP

Hey guys,
Willing to implement OCS to use GVP MediaServer for CPD. According to docs:
1. Configure a Trunk Group DN on the SIP Server switch object. For more information, see Framework Genesys Administrator Help.
2. Configure a Campaign Group object with the Trunk Group DN. For more information, see page 212.
3. Configure a SIP Server application object that controls the Trunk Group DN.
4. In the OCS application object, add this SIP Server on the Configuration tab/Connectionssection.
Am I crazy or this is so vague and wrong?
Trunk DN, ok, pointing to where? MCP?
3 shouldn't be first step? How to create a DN for a Switch which doesn't have a SIP Server? O.o

I guess worflow should be:

OCS reuqest dial to SIP Server
SIP Server sends to MCP
MCP sends again to SIP Server GW
SIP Server GW sends to MediaGateway like AudioCodes or PBX with SIP to reach customer
MCP analyzes
OCS receives MCP data
OCS applies treatment or asks SIP Server to send call to URS to execute strategy

Right?
Am I wrong? If so, please can you help me clarify my concepts?

Thanks!

Hi Cav,

Don't think you are too far wrong here. Based on recent experience using Sangoma rather than MCP and base7 with a SBC behind as the "SIP Server GW" then the call flow is:

OCS -> SIPS -> Sangoma CPA -> base7 SG -> SBC. Sangoma stays in the SIP signalling path for the duration of the call (e.g. post CPA) and is configured as the outbound trunk from the perspective of SIPS.

Regards
Craig

The Genesys documentation on the integration of the Outbound Contact suite with GVP is very poor, I raised this to Genesys more than a year ago.
There's a Genesys recorded tutorial that specifically focuses on this, I believe it was presented on 2012; that should be useful to your deployment.

Coming to your questions:
[li]I believe nobody follows that configuration sequence, but I guess you may be able to create DNs under a switch even if no T-Server is associate with it[/li]
[li]It's not a Trunk DN that you have to configure, but a Trunk Group DN: this represents for SIP Server the pool of GVP resources it will be using (hence usually you point it to the RM IP address). [/li]
[li]the call flow you illustrated is pretty much correct, however, there's no signal back to the GW from Media Server (your step 3), plus Media Server doesn't respond back to OCS, rather to SIP Server; what happens next depends on a) whether you're using Transfer or ASM mode and b) whether you link the treatment to a VXML app or not.[/li]
;D
Thanks a lot guys. I got that idea from Sangoma too, willing to compare results from both.

Greg, what is your experience in that? Which one ended up better for you based on experience?
