Migrate GVP behind PBX to in front of PBX

We are currently using Avaya Aura PBX offerings and interface with Genesys GVP and TServer for IVR and CTI respectively.

Today we deliver calls to GVP from Avaya using SIP OPS stations in hunt group on PBX to send calls to Genesys SIP Server.  I'd like to move towards a more standard SIP Trunk integration, but understand the requirements for DNs in Genesys.  Ideally I'd like to front end PBX with IVR.  Can I setup a switching office, switch, trunks, and define DNs based on the SIP trunk channels?  Can anyone point me towards documentation on this type of SIP integration between Avaya and Genesys?

Thanks
Dan

There is no special document which describes the integration of Avaya with Genesys SIP (you can ask Genesys for doc like this, maybe exists internally) - in general, you have to understand the Genesys architecture, event model and of course to know how all works - Genesys and Avaya. What do you want to achieve - put the IVR in front of PBX or..?

There are several documents you can look for. Look for the GVP deployment guide for you specific and the SIP Server guide for your specific versions. Also look at the Voice Platform integration guide.

Much of this is going to depend on how GVP in front  will receive the initial call (from a SIP gateway I am assuming) and then GVP sends the call back over to Avaya, for example is GVP going to send a refer back the gateway and the gateway sends the call to Avaya or is there an expectation for GVP (or SIP) to have a trunk to the gateway and Avaya?
