VOIP TServer Type?

I've trawled through the Genesys Knowledge Base for details of the TServer type to support VOIP apparently, this is an "SMCP" TServer. Can anyone confirm this?

I was hoping that we could simply addon the VOIP requirement to an existing (G3) TServer, which is already installed and supporting our traditional Solution/model.

...Thanks for your continued "support" ladies and gents!

  • Surely the TServer type depends on the switch type. We are using a Nortel CS2000 to provide VOIP, so that's what type of TServer we are using.

If you are using a G3, I would of thought that your existing Tserver would be OK. I assume that even in the VOIP world, the Tservers still connect to the Avaya via the MAPD/CLan cards.

Steve I was given the impression that our VOIP would be CTILess when in fact it will be fed into a local ACD associated with the G3 Switch thereby via the normal TServer on site.

    All is clear now...

    Thanks,

Your switch is still the same and the TServer should not have to be replaced. TServer will still get the switch informaton the switch is doing the TDM and VoIP.

Thank you I understand the implications with regard to the technology, now that I have investigated the architecture.
