Windows empty folder

we are facing an issue currently where an empty folder will suddenly appear on the windows taskbar.  By empty folder I mean that it has the folder icon with no name written besides it.  The only available options it has on right click is "Close".  When this is selected the softphone stops responding and the windows task manager will give the dialog box to end the softphone application.

We are using another application which interacts with softphone and this application starts the softphone as one of its process instead of a separate application.  This issue is not reproducable at will and occurs intermittently.

Has anyone heard about this anytime before?

Thanks  ???

  • Hi,

Your question is really a general one (what softphone? which way it interacts with second application? etc.) so it hard to help you... However it seems to me that your softphone application generates some "empty" error(?) dialog/message. And that dialog is modal window so the softphone stops responding until you close it.

It will be a bit tricky to find out the reason of this issue. If you have source codes that somebody should take a look. It could be helpful to find out what was happening at the time the issue appeared (agent on call, new incoming call etc.) using logs of Genesys TServer.

  • My guess would be as following:

    1. your logs folder is not defined or is an invalid path, thus sofpthone is probably doing something funny
    2. debug folder with hidden files?
