Hello!
First of all, I would like to thank all of you for continuing to make this forum such a great success. I found information here to be at times indispensable to making correct decisions about product introduction and successful project completion.
Looking through the wealth of information contained here and technical expertise pool assembled, I decided to take the next logical step establish an online Genesys Developer Group. Many of us live in different countries and each one of us have a unique perspective about the CTI market in that particular area, its needs, demands, and direction it is heading. Some of us are call center administrators, Genesys developers, call center consultants, PBX engineers, and even marketing personnel.
Few weeks back, few of us started throwing emails back and forth discussing a possibility of creating an online Genesys developer/consulting group, which would work together on developing and providing various Genesys
elated services and products for distribution in our respective areas.
So far, the response was overwhelming. Among few of the first products considered were (in no particular order): Webased SoftPhone, Cserver libraries, Ccon reporting utilities, and so on.
I polled few different people from regions such as Europe, Korea, Japan, North America, South America, Australia and Africa, and it seems like we all want the same functionality with a little variation here or there.
So question is should we all reinvent the bicyle on our own, or work together on developing the product and offering it in our respective markets? How many times do we need to redevelop the SoftPhone?!
I realize that there are a lot of issues such as commitment, copyright, financial compensation, etc that need to be considered. And this is where I would like to ask for your input:
how do you foresee this group develop
what products or services should this group consider offering?
I realize that some of us are working for different and sometimes rival companies; however, based on my experience so far, I found that working together created more opportunities and generated more revenues, than trying to outpace each other.
Needless to say, feel free to email me directly at forum@starsystems.co.jp with your ideas and suggestions or reply right here.
I will keep you updated on the progress. And I really hope that we will all benefit from working closer together. After all, we all have the same goal avoid rebooting Genesys at 2 AM on Saturday morning
