Is it me, or is *every* Agent in CME able to open CCPulse? We have only allowed CCPulse Ranks for various Team Leaders and Supervisors but it would appear that *all* of the Agents in CME can open and use CCPulse, to different degrees. If we add in CCPulse as an Application in the Ranks tab of an Agent and mark them up as a User, they obviously do not have the rights to set up new Views etc. However, if they have no CCPulse Application in the Rank and no entry on their details relating to CCPulse, they appear to have the same rights as the "user" Rank of CCPulse.

I thought, to disallow access to CCPulse completely, you simply did not add in that Application on the Agents Ranks tab?

Am I right? Did I miss something?

  • Answered my own question, again:

The CCPulse Application object in CME was set up with permisisons for "Everyone" to access. I have set up a new Access Group, called CCPulse and added my CCPulse Users to it. Then I removed "Everyone" from the Permissions for CCPulse and added my new Access Group "CCPulse".

In this way, the Ranks determine the level of access to CCPulse and the Access Group "CCPulse" determines whether the User can actually open the application.

...yes, I guess I *did* miss something on the course!

  • Its true that you can use any person's user name and password to work with CCPulse+ as well as do the same with CME. Person's rank such CCPulse Administrator simply allow using Wizards (Template, Threshold etc.) inside CCPulse in order to create/modify Template, Thresholds etc. By default any Person is CCPulse User (so any Agent)and that means that a Person can use only available Templates, Thresholds etc. (note: prepared by Administrator who should maintain the environment), create own workspaces and Views. CCPulse+ Administrator Guide, page 56 may help in some cases.
