Purging of datamart tables

Hi everyone, I've configured purging of the datamart db to keep 13 months of data and then have an offset of 1 month (this was done in the purging_rules table on the datamart db and so sets the values for all of the reports to this default).
When I run the purge some of the data gets deleted and some doesn't, i.e. some of the reports in Brio show the correct dates after the purge, and some of them still show the dates for data that should have been removed by the purge.
Has any one else seen this problem and if so how did you overcome it?
Also, is it true that once the purge has deleted the data from the db, you have to go in to the db and manually delete the rows that have been cleared of data by the purge?
For info I am running ETL version 6.1 at present.

Thanks very much,

Pelly

  • what is the exact version of ETL you are running?
Browsing through release notes for 6.1 it mentions several times about this problem...

  • Hi,

Check out RN for the latest DataMart (old ETL Package).
This version deletes the tables for deleted layouts as well!

Sorry if it didn't help you in your issue :)

  • Hi Lim, thanks for your reply. I am running 6.1.023.00, an early release I know, but we haven't touched it since it was deployed 20 months ago. I have asked our reseller for the latest versions of CCA to upgrade to to see if that resolves the issues.

  • Hi everyone. I seem to have cracked the main purging part of my problem now, however there is still one table on the datamart database that is not getting purged. This is the genesys.chunk_log table. I am assuming that these records are signifying the chunks passed to the datamart from the ODS db? If this is the case, once the chunks have been dealt with by datamart, can these records in the chunk_log be deleted? Does anyone know if the records in this table are referenced any where else in the database or used for the reports in brio and would hence stop me from deleting them?

Thanks in advance again for any assistance you may be able to give.
