Hello all

Iam a newbie to genesys and  I have couple of basic Q's related to ISCC ..

1> what is ISCC used for ?? is mandatory for multi site routing ??
2> wht does target type ISCC and Target type ACD queue imply?
3> If a call needs to be routed to a ACD queue at a different location ,is it required to route the call to an external route point first or can it be routed to the ACD Q directly??

Thanks in advance ........

Ranjit,

to answer as simple as I can:

ISCC is used to forward information from one T-Server to another about the call that will/is/will be sent there.

Genesys by default uses it to have T-Servers talk to each other.

IT is my understanding that you do not have to use External Routing Points to transfer the call, but then you will be running into a lot of problems with identify which call is what.

ERP exists solely for allowing TServers to preserve relationship between a physical call and its CTI info, but using FIFO concept:

basic concept is like this:

TS1 tells TS2 that it will be sending call A to it along with data 1,2,3,4,5 to DN1234@TS2
TS2 tells  TS1 that it needs to send call DN9999@TS2 and then it will forward that call to DN1234@TS2
TS1 sends call to DN9999@TS2
TS2 attached data it was told by TS1, replaces ConnID with the one the call had at TS1 and then forwards it to DN1234

there is no reason why you would not want to use ERP... Perhaps someone else can :)

thnks for your reply vic ...

Correct me if iam wrong ...my understading for your explanation has been that ... imagine a scenario where site A has to send a call to a ACD q 1234 at site B ... so the site A will send the call to the external route point at site B and   the attached info will contain the ACD Q the call should be routed to in the switch... is this correct ???

Also do u have clue regarding what the target type ISCC and targt type ACD Queue really implies..

appreciate all your help..

    I can now answer this!

About how external routing point works: yes, your understanding is correct.

About ACD Queue - you will need to test it and see.

    Try it with simulator!
