For a behind the switch configuration, what are the conditions for which GVP ports do not answer? Help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chandra

Hi,

Your question is very general so it's hard to answer it. What version of GVP you have? Is it VoIP (IPCS) or TDM (Dialogic)? What switch?

Some ideas:
- Connection problems between switch and GVP
- Wrong port configuration
- Wrong GVP configuration
- etc.

Atlast i found the problem why GVp is not answering. i just want to update you guys. The reason is silly...We are using to service providers ATT megacom and Verizon ready line service. The calls which are coming through verizon service which has DNIS 4215  are not answer by gvp. For other DNIS like 4216 , 4217 that comes through verizon,  gvp is answering the call.

To provide more information, we are using 4215 as exit vdn at other site which transfers call to other call center , this call doesn't come into IVR :goes directly to rep. For the DNIS 4215 that comes from verizon,  switch attaches one more digit makes this a five digit number and send the call into to IVR (this call causes RONA everytime).

Right now we stopped using verizon service and we donot have RONAs.

Still i am having hardtime in figuring out the problem with 4215.

Any ideas related to this is helpful in further digging. :)

Thanks,
Chandra

Chandra,

I would suggest you to check VPM (PopGateway) log. You should see there incoming call and what happens with it. If there is no information about incoming call then call isn't routed to GVP at all.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for the reply. I thoroughly checked the pop gateway logs. No incoming call is showing up at the time it RONAed the ports.

My issue is solved thanks for the help.

Thanks,
Chandra

If a call comes and rings on IVR port directly, does GVP would answer this call or not?If not what might be reasons?( for a behind the switch configuration)

How can we configure GVP to answer the calls that come from a particular DNIS and donot answer other calls. ( DO we provision these numbers or any different config setting?)

Any ideas, please help.

Thanks,
Chandra

Chandra,

GVP uses DNIS (DID) to determine how to process incoming call = what voice application has to be started. So you have to create DID group, add all required DNIS numbers into it and assign that DID group to your application.

If call comes to GVP port and isn't answered then check:
- DNIS number exists in the DID group assigned to voice application you'd like GVP to start
- DNIS is passed to GVP - use PopGateway log to find out
