CS1000 with IP

Hi,

Is anyone out there using CS1000x with IP module (signal server, voice gateway ...etc) and connect to Genesys Tserver? I'm thinking that if CS1000 IP module sends call activity messages to Tserver (not SIP server) via AST enabled, then I don't we need SIP server...

Thanks.

I haven't done a cs1000 IP implementation, but I'm currently in the middle of a CS2000 IP implementation, and we're using the standard CS2000 TServer.
I would think you would need it because I doubt the SIP server would have the coding to interface with the Nortel link protocols...

Yes, it would probably makes better sense if we use SIP server.

But I'm just entertaining the idea that if Nortel IP modules are able to send call signals (via VTN, Virtual Super Loop)  to Symposium link (mlink) then CS1000 Tserver would be able to handle the call messaging and requesting.

Thanks.

Mark,

Are you able to enable AST and IAPG on the VTN to get the switch messages to Tserver via Symposium link?

We're using a mixed environment, adding IP Phones into an existing CS1000 environment.  We just continued to use TServer 7.6 and have had no issues.

We're also using a hybrid solution with TDM and ip handsets on a CS1000 with sig server, media gateways cards etc. As long as you AST enable the ip handsets on the pbx then Genesys t-server can be used. From a CME perspective there is no additonal config required for ip handsets over TDM.
