As many of you may be aware, www.stackoverflow.com is a wonderful place to ask and answer programming related questions. They have expanded to include topics on a vast array of topics. Some of the expansions have been fantastic, others pitiful. There is currently a proposal stackexchange site for Telephony. It still requires community members to commit to making the site a success, so it hasn't even launched yet. It has been in a state of "accepting committers" for quite a few months now, and hasn't gained any real traction yet.
I'm aware that such a site would compete directly with sggu (as sggu competes directly with Genesys' own internal forums), but I feel that an entire site built on the stackexchange engine for Telephony would help us all tremendously. There is no easy way to ask and answer genesys related questions, and forums have been shown to not be a great medium for this type of task.
So, I'm asking any (and all) of you, to help commit to the site. If you don't know what stackoverflow or stackexchange is, I invite you to learn about it yourself. They really are great resources for nearly any topic you can think of.
To commit to helping the Telephony community in general, please follow this link http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/12932/telephony?referrer=oh8HEbIMCeo1 or this link if you're sceptical about a referrer link http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/12932/telephony, and commit to the proposal.
I'm sorry if this constitutes as spam. If the mods are not accepting of this post, I understand that it may be removed.
Thanks
