Does anyone know of any issues with having 2 TServers pointing to the same Symposium link. No DNs are defined in both switches associated with the TServers.

  • I did not know two TServer can connect to the same link.
I am a little bit concerned with how are you planning to connect to SL, because you would need to specify link_number and as far as I know, you cannot have two clients connect to the same link in SL.

Why are you trying to do it?

  • I need to have a test enviroment setup, which points to the same switch. This test TServer must not monitor or interfere with any of the production DNs. This would only be possible by defining a seperate switch object in CME.

  • There is no problem, you can go to 16 (max) Tserver on the same S.L. The only option that you need to change is:

    applicationid

Each tServer must have a different name and cannot monitored the same DN and CDN

  • I guess this defeats the purpose of 2 Tserver and 2 MLinks for HA. (if you cannot monitor the same CDN and DN)
We had a similar problem, however we have shelved plans for this next few months until we have additional projects settled down.
